Gay Fund-raiser Coming to Grey Gardens
The Hetrick-Martin Institute, the nonprofit that aids LGBT youths and runs Manhattan's Harvey Milk High School, is holding its School's Out fund-raiser on the famed Grey Gardens estate.
The East Hampton, N.Y., residence—once home to Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale ("Big Edie") and Edith Bouvier Beale ("Little Edie"), the mother and daughter featured in the documentary Grey Gardens—will serve as the backdrop to the fund-raiser, taking place June 12. Attendees will have the opportunity to walk and explore the famous grounds.
Aside from raising money for Hetrick-Martin, the annual School’s Out event introduces Hetrick-Martin’s summer programming and features Harvey Milk students discussing the school's impact on their lives. The event attracts political figures, fashion designers, models, and celebrities.
It appears that this raccoon may have been overzealous in declaring that the Eastern Suffolk BOCES production of Grey Gardens the musical is the first one ever. It looks like Carolina Forest High School in Myrtle Beach, SC will be performing the musical a couple of weeks earlier, from March 4–7, 2010. More info about this production can be found at http://www.greygardensinfo.com/.

In addition to the production, we are having critically acclaimed artist, Xris Kessler display his exquisite Grey Gardens collection of paintings as well to add to the mix. Xris's work has been featured recently on Saturday Night Live, and is carried in fine art galleries all over.
This sounds great! Break a leg, Carolina Forest High School!
